Elected November 2, 2001 by the citizens Ward 2 of the City of Burlington to serve as their Councilperson and sworn in on January 1, 2002. My term expires on December 31, 2005. As Councilperson of Ward 2, I represent the interests of City residents of Voting Ward 2, [See Map: Voting Wards] the areas commonly referred to as London, New London and western part of Yorkshire. Council members perform all appropriate functions with respect to City legislation, including:

  • Preparation of Municipal Budget
  • Writing and Passage of Ordinances to govern the City
  • Voice concerns and complaints of constituents (City Ward 2 residents)
  • Represent Ward 2 citizens while solving problems and planning for the future

2002 – present • Tourism Representative, Economic Development Dept., County of Burlington Business planning, marketing and advertising, promotions of county’s tourism opportunities. Liaison between non-profits and business.
1993 - 2002 • Owner/Operator D. Roberts Gift Shop, Burlington, NJ Developed as local start up business, responsible for all fiscal, procurement, marketing, advertising and promotional decisions.
Previous positions held in environmental technology and economic development have required marketing, management and business development acumen as well as budget development and administrative skills.

COMMUNITY

  • Council’s appointment to the City’s Tourism Council for the past 6 years
  • Executive board member of the YMCA and the Greater Burlington Chamber of Commerce
  • In 1993, developed the Festival of Lights, which has been voted “Best Summer Festival” by readers of the BCT for 8 consecutive years
  • Instrumental in the development of Burlington Day
  • Active in procuring the new City of Burlington Tourism web site, marketing materials and post card campaign
  • Charged with bringing her background of sales, marketing and tourism to the county level as the Burlington County Tourism Coordinator
