Recreational Opps  |  top of page

The area boasts a variety of recreation and cultural activities.

BURLINGTON ISLAND
Burlington Island represents an unusual opportunity for the creation of both commercial and recreational facilities in a one-of-a-kind waterfront setting. A 400 acre island, with a 100 acre clear water lake, it was the first recorded settlement in the state of New Jersey. Burlington Island served as a major amusement park in the early 1900s. Located in the Delaware River between New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the island is administered by the City of Burlington and The Board of Island Managers.

PARKS
Both communities host well-maintained park systems with picnic facilities and walking trails. You may take the opportunity to stroll along the Riverfront Promenade in Burlington City or play tennis at Burlington Township’s 195 acre Green Acres Park. Enjoy the City’s Riverfront Open-air Summer Concert Series. Listen to fine music concerts from soloists to orchestra in the newly-built Burlington Township Cultural Center, operated by the Community Arts Foundation.

YMCA
Located in the Burlington Commerce Square Industrial Park, the Family Y of Burlington County provides a 32,000 sq ft building complete with fitness center, aerobics studio, gymnasium and a 6-lane 25 meter swimming pool.
