THE CITY OF BURLINGTON–Mayor at work
YOUR PLACE... AND TIME

Elected by City residents to four-year terms, the Mayor and City Council provide leadership and develop City legislation. Daily City operations are directed by the Administrator, who ensures that all City regulations, as adopted by the Mayor and City Council, are effectively applied. Reporting to the Mayor and Administrator are six Department Directors responsible for the supervision of over 100 City employees.

The Mayor thanks those Departments...

  • Public Safety: Police, Fire and Rescue– our hometown heroes save lives and protect property
  • Public Works– working hard so essential services, water, drainage and traffic flow smoothly
  • Housing & Community Development – ensuring our structures are strong
  • Finance– exhibiting diligence in minding the City’s economic assets
  • Law and Municipal Court– maintaining our balance of Justice and
  • Public Affairs– lifting us up with celebrations and events year-round.
