Chief Anthony Wallace was appointed head of the Police Department on Sept. 1, 2010 by Mayor James A. Fazzone. Chief Wallace is responsible for the daily operations of the Police Department, which currently includes 32 Full-Time Police Officers, 14 Part-Time Officers, and 21 Crossing Guards, and 3 Records Clerks.

     Chief Wallace was appointed as a Police Officer in February 1991. He was subsequently assigned to the Detective Bureau, became a Patrol Sergeant, and then a Detective Sergeant. He was promoted to Police Lieutenant in 2004 and Police Captain in 2005 prior to his appointment to Chief in 2010.

     Chief Wallace has a degree in Criminal Justice and a degree in Business Administration, and has completed college certification programs in Police Science and Mortuary Science. He also has completed State of New Jersey Certified Public Managers Program, Levels 1-6, recognized by Fairleigh Dickinson University.

    Chief Wallace is an active member of the City of Burlington Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 63, the Burlington County Chiefs of Police Association, and the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.
