The City of Burlington’s location makes citizens eligible for flood insurance which may be purchased under the Federal Flood Insurance program. Failure to purchase such insurance when required of a property owner will result in the denial of Federal Disaster Assistance in an amount equal to what Federal Flood Insurance would have provided (NJSA 54:4-64.1). Please visit City Hall and refer to the “Flood Map”, maintained by the Housing & Community Development Dept. to see if your property rests within the insurance-required area.
