What the Councilperson Ward 4 Does
Elected on November 2, 2009, by the citizens Ward 4 of the City of Burlington to serve as their Councilperson, my term began on January 1, 2010 and expires on December 31, 2013. As your Councilperson of Ward 4, I represent the interests of City residents of Voting Ward 4, [See Map: Voting Wards] the areas commonly referred to as Mehlville, Farnerville and East Farnerville. Council members perform all appropriate functions with respect to City legislation, including:
- Preparation of Municipal Budget
- Writing and Passage of Ordinances to govern the City
- Voice concerns and complaints of constituents (City Ward 4 residents)
- Represent Ward 4 citizens while solving problems and planning for the future

TERM OF SERVICE
4 years, Jan., 2010 to Dec. 31, 2013. Formerly served as Ward 4 Councilwoman, Feb., 2006 to Dec. 31, 2009.
YEARS OF SERVICE:
Graduate: Burlington City High School Class of 1974
1990 to present - Day Care Provider, Self-Employed Providing structured day care activities for children age 3 months to 5 years.
Apr. 2004 to Mar. 2006 - Burlington Board of Island Managers, Treasurer Responsible for payment of bills, advising Board on current interest rates for CDs and Money Market Accounts. Recommend best investment opportunities. Provided monthly accounting of expenditures and maintain books for audit.
Apr. 2000 to Mar. 2006 - Burlington Board of Island Managers, Secretary Recorded and transcribed monthly meeting minutes. Coordinated student scholarship application and interviews Posted notices for regular and special meetings in newspapers and at City Hall. Maintained records and documents.
VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY SERVICE
Burlington City Democratic Party: participate in fundraising activities including Spaghetti Dinner and 9-11 Tribute as well as working on Children’s Halloween Party and the headquarters Open House during Christmas Parade 2004 and 2005.
Burlington City Municipal Alliance: Secretary, Citizens Against Substance Abuse (CASA) 1999 to present. Maintain records, ensure correspondence and coordinate Annual Awards Programs.
Burlington City High School Project Graduation: Chairperson, 1998 through 2005. Raised approximately $10,000 annually. Coordinated all activities and services for the event ranging from site selection to entertainment and the family graduation reception for 500+ individuals.
Burlington City High School PTA President: 1999 through 2005. Coordinated all fundraisers, bringing in approximately $6,000 to $10,000 yearly. Ensured bylaws were kept current, and fiscal audits were conducted. Coordinated Homecoming functions, class parties, student scholarships and special activities. Managed the High School Snack Shack which was rated “Best in County” by the Burlington County Times.
