Jet Fuel Leak Repair at Kennedy Park Extension Update, Feb. 9, 2018, 4 pm

This is an updated message from Interstate Storage and Pipe Line Corporation, Jacksonville, NJ, 609-267-9100, concerning a recent Jet Fuel Spill near Keim Blvd at Kennedy Park.

Dear Residents of the City of Burlington,

On Jan. 3, we informed you that there was excavation and repair activity at the Kennedy Park Extension. While cold temperatures and unpredictable weather have complicated work on the project, Interstate Storage and Pipeline Corporation continues to make progress.

• A temporary chain link fence has been placed around the work.
• A gravel road has been installed to provide safe access to the area.
• The pipeline has been repaired.
• Work continues, despite the weather, to excavate and remove impacted soil.

The affected soil is expected to be fully removed by the middle of February, and the fence will then be removed and the area graded and reseeded by Spring.

Interstate Storage & Pipeline Corporation greatly appreciates the help, patience, and encouragement from residents and the City of Burlington, and remains committed to returning the park to the beautiful place it has always been. If you have any questions concerning this project, please feel free to contact Michelle Denault, Interstate’s Regulatory Compliance Manager, at 609-267-9100.

Thank you.
