  • Where can I learn more about recycling?

    Every other Friday, city-wide, our curbside recyclables are collected by Burlington County. Recyclables need to be at the curb by 6 a.m.
    For general recycling information (recorded), please call 609-386-0200, ext. 157.

    Inform the Public Works Secretary by calling 609-386-0200 ext. 132. Report questions or complaints to our office at 609-386-0754. Citizens may call City Hall 24 hrs./day at 609-386-0200 and follow the recorded prompts to reach the Public Works Division, or choose the Bulletin Board and select from the options.   • Where is the Municipal Recycling Yard, where I can take my recycling to be dropped off?

    The Municipal Recycling Yard is at the corner of William Street and Mitchell Avenue, near the Public Works Garage.
    It is open W and Sat 8am-2pm

    By 7am day of collection, place trash at curbside. It must be bagged and in approved receptacles. Do NOT place trash at curbside before 6pm the night before collection.

    Recycling is now coordinated by the Housing & Community Development Dept.

    Every other Friday, city-wide, our curbside recyclables are collected by Burlington County.

  • I want to get rid of fall leaves-- when is leaf collection scheduled?

    CURBSIDE FALL LEAF COLLECTION PROGRAM
    Leaf pickup zones correspond to your Trash Pickup Schedule.
    If your Trash Pickup Day is:	      Thursday     Tuesday     Fri./Wed.

    Rake leaves to the curb line for pickup. DO NOT bag leaves. City residents who want to bag their leaves can take bagged leaves to the Municipal Recycling Drop-off Yard located at the corner of William Street and Mitchell Avenue. The Drop-off Yard is open on W and Sat 7:30am-2:30pm during the Leaf Collection Program.

    There is no charge for City of Burlington Residents to take leaves to the Recycling Center on Mitchell Avenue. Proof of City residency is required.

    Anyone leaving trash, brush or leaves outside the fenced area of the Municipal Recycling Drop-Off Center during hours when the Center is closed will be subject to fines and penalties.

  • Does the City collect my brush, sticks and branches?

    When notified, the Division of Public Works collects brush and branches during the first full week of every month. To be scheduled for pick-ups, contact Public Works Secretary M-F 9am-5pm at 609-386-0200 ext. 132.
    All brush to be collected must be properly tied into bundles. Branches must not exceed 6 inches in diameter nor 8 feet in length.
    The Department of Public Works DOES NOT collect curbside brush during the leaf collection program.

    Residents may take tied brush to the Municipal Drop-off Yard W and Sat 7:30am-2:30pm.
    All brush dropped off must be properly tied into bundles. Branches must not exceed 6 inch diameter and 8 foot length.

    WARNING: Anyone leaving trash, brush, or leaves outside of the fenced area of the Municipal Recycling Drop-off Yard during hours when the Yard is closed will be subject to fines and penalties.
